NHTSA: 2018 Mazda CX-9 Earns Top Rating

NHTSAIn a recent press release, Mazda announced that the 2018 Mazda CX-9 earned a five star overall rating from the NHTSA! The NHTSA is the United States government’s National Traffic Safety Administration. The five star rating comes after completing meticulous collision and pre-collision tests.

All of Mazda’s 2018 models of the CX-9 feature Smart City Brake Support for the very first time. This is a technology that can automatically apply the brakes in various situation where speed is less than 19 mph. It’s also a part of Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE suite of safety systems. Also, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-traffic Alert are now standard for this year.

The five star ratings from the NHTSA help consumers make well informed decisions about the safety of vehicles they may intend to buy. These safety evaluations show how vehicles perform in crash tests. These crash tests include front, side and rollover type crash tests. Mazda develops its vehicles are what they call Proactive Safety Philosophy. This is based on empowering the driver with nimble, stable and intuitive vehicle to drive. Its goal is to avoid accidents in the first place. The i-ACTIVSENSE safety systems offer assistance, like Smart City Brake Support and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. Both of these features are now standard on ALL Mazda CX-9 models.
