Update: Apple CarPlay & Android Auto for 2018 Mazda6
Mazda recently announced some really exciting news! Beginning in November, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will be available as standard equipment on the 2018 Mazda6 Touring trim level and above. This very anticipated update for the 2018 Mazda6 Touring enables drivers and passengers alike to access phone apps through the MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system. If you’ve already purchased a 2018 Mazda6, starting this month you’ll also be able to have to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay installed at no additional cost to you!
Starting this month, if you own a 2018 Mazda6 Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve or Signature model,. You can call the Beach Mazda Service Department to schedule your upgrade service. This is no additional cost to you, whatsoever. The software and hardware upgrade update will take approximately two hours to complete.
In addition, not only will you receive the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay upgrade, you’ll also receive a faster-charging and more powerful 2.1-amp USB port. Moreover, you’ll get the latest software version of MAZDA CONNECT. How awesome is that?
One thing about this MAZDA CONNECT integration is Mazda’s Commander knob and buttons. The Commander knob and buttons allow an easier ability to switch between the different user interfaces. This offer betters management of the different capabilities. The integration supports Mazda’s Head-Up Cockpit idea. The Head-Up Cockpit was designed to reduce cognitive distraction from outside sources. This means it is easier to listen to the radio while using a compatible phone-based navigation app.
